Nursing Assistant

Would you like to enter the heath care job market? Nursing Assistants are vital members of the health care team. This two semester course includes:

  • Nursing Assistant Skills
  • Basic Anatomy and Physiology and Infection Control
  • Emphasis on communication, professionalism and compassion
  • Preparation for state Nursing Assistant Certification Exam

Nursing Assistant Program

Nursing Assistant

There will be two Nursing Assistant classes for the 2018-2019 school year. The course length is for a full year. The courses will be held either:

  • Wednesday and Friday 7:25am-9:55 a.m. for the full year
  • Tuesday and Thursday  7:25 am -9:55 am for the full year
  • Some alternate days, evenings and weekends may be required for clinicals.

There is a $40.00 lab fee and the student will be required to purchase a uniform for labs and clinical rotations. The student will also be required to have the following:

  • Reliable transportation to clinical sites
  • A medical release stating the student is able to perform the Essential Functions
  • Negative TB test
  • Updated immunizations including the influenza vaccine
  • CPR certification



Must be a Senior in High School

2.5 cumulative GPA

1 year of Biology with a minimum grade of a "C" for each semester

A letter of interest must be included with the application or emailed to by March 2018

State Certification Examination

NA.jpgThe Nursing Assistant Program has full approval through December 2018 by the Department of Health and meets federal and state requirements. The successful student will be qualified to take the State Certification Examination and become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Students must successfully complete two semesters in both the clinical and classroom portions to be qualified to take the state certification exam.
